NEET 2024 syllabus:

The NEET 2024 syllabus is based on the 11th and 12th grade CBSE syllabus for Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. It covers a wide range of topics, but some of the most important ones include:

  • Mechanics (including kinematics, laws of motion, work, energy, power, rotational motion, gravitation, etc.)
  • Electrostatics (including electric charges, fields, potential, capacitors, etc.)

NEET Exam Pattern 2024: Key Points

 

Number of Questions:

Total: 200 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)

Attempt required: 180 questions

 

Subject Distribution:

Physics: 50 questions (2 sections: 35 + 15)

Chemistry: 50 questions (2 sections: 35 + 15)

Biology (Botany & Zoology): 100 questions (2 sections: 50 + 50)

 

Marking Scheme:

Each correct answer: +4 marks

Each incorrect answer: -1 mark (only attempted questions)

No marks for unattempted questions

Total marks: 720 (4 marks/question x 180 questions)

 

Exam Duration: 3 hours and 20 minutes (200 minutes)

 

Application Form:

 

  • Mode: Online
  • Fee (Tentative): General Category - ₹1600, SC/ST/PwD - ₹800

Eligibility Criteria

 

Educational Qualification:

  • Must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as core subjects from a recognized board.
  • Appearing in the 12th exam are also eligible to apply.
  • Candidates studying Biology as an additional subject after passing class 12 are also eligible.

 

Qualifying marks:

  • Candidates belonging to the Unreserved/OBC-NCL category must have scored a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology in their Class 12 or HSC examination.
  • For SC/ST/PwD category candidates, the minimum mark requirement is 40%.

 

Nationality:

  • Indian citizens, NRIs, OCIs, PIOs, or foreign nationals.

 

Age Limit:

  • Minimum age requirement: 17 years old by December 31, 2024.
  • No upper age limit.

 

Number of attempts:

  • There is no restriction on the number of attempts for NEET-UG.
